Ok, last time I bought something on ebay, it did not actually work out that well. BUT, ever the eternal optimist, I thought I would buy a friends present on there. WRONG, oh so wrong!
Won the bid, yippee. Contacted seller, who only accepted postal orders, tried to obtain their address. After 3 days and 4 futile emails, I emailed them to say, thanks but I will source the product elsewhere and posted some negative feedback for them. I duly received this response:
"re you some kind of clown ive read your feedback,s and it say,s alot bout you i think you need to sort your head out and give it a wobble i don,t relist thing,s if you had paid ypu would have recived your good,s you deceied you have not made contact with me ps reade my feedback,s when i leave you one more your,s will look great ,ha ha ha"
Last time I checked, I had straw between my ears for basically not sleeping for the last 6 months. It does wobble, but does not distrub me that much. Ah well, I always wanted a cyber stalker...
Contacted ebay, they are chasing the person up. Not that I need them to, as I have purchased the product elsewhere.
Have decided to cheer myself up by buying lots of Faith Brown inspired jewlery from Hong Kong, costing only 1p, but postage is 4.99. Bargin. SARS presumably free? If nothing else, my earlobes will get some excersise whilst trying to support some cubic zirconia monstrosity!
On a darker note, we have slept even less in the last week than it is possible to do. We are still doing the shift system, and Stuart is unable to work Monday and Fridays as Cameron is at home, and I am physically unable to get through such days without locking myself in the kitchen and crying my eyes out. I do however, lock the child gate behind me so that my darling son does not see his ever so slightly stressed mother wailing (on the inside) like a mute banshee.
We now have a referral to the hospitalfor her colic. Cameron has been sick the last week, so no nursery for him, no work for Stuart, and I have not left the house in a week.
I have also hidden some of Camerons books, as if I had to red Rosies Walk, one more time, I would have screamed. I have read that book to him approx 15 times a day for the last month. I decided yesterday evening that it would have to join the gruffalo, on the top shelf of the bookcase. It will only ever see daylight again once he is 3 years old. Reading this you probably think I am harsh. I probably am.

.One present for me....
Ok, have now made it into town twice this week (whoooho!) accompanied by ever so patient hubby. When he is not folding / unfolding prams, getting screaming baby to sleep whilst we are out he is either buying me icecream or following me patiently around a shop.
I am now comfort shopping, one present for me, one for someone else. Problem is that the present for me is actually for one of the kids and the present for someone else is actually wholly unsuitable for the person it is meant for. Never mind. I figure if I keep being escorted into town then I am bound to find the right present. NCP must love me at the moment!
Was absolutely determined to read a book last night, but seeing as all the books are in Cams room, had to make do with reading a Hungarian recepie book for fear of disturbing him. Boy did I go to sleep hungry. It is probably what was responsible for my foul mood at 2 am when I announced to hubby that after pacifying Lottie for an hour and a half it was his turn. I turned on my heels and left her room and went back to our bed, pulled the duvet over my head and went to sleep. Does this make me a bad mother? Answers on a post it note please....
PS I can thoroughly recommend a 15 tog duvet for drowning out screaming.....

Update on Stuff
Ignoring the fact that I dont get more than 3 hours sleep (if I am lucky) and even thats with Lottie on my chest, the fact that I have eliminated most foods, blah blah, then, there probably is an excuse for me morphing into one of "those" mothers last night.
Picked up the newsletter from the nursery, scanning through it I noticed that Cam's group are holding a nativity production. And Cameron has not been selected. Blood boiled, spat drooled as I ranted to Stuart about how we are paying a fortune for the nursery, how cute Cameron is and how I feel he should have a part. I have now discovered a ranting ability so passionate, so fast and so fluid, that I could actually write for any dictator wishing to grace me with some money.
When I finally let Stuart get a word in edgeways, he pointed out that the production was for over 2's. Also, he pointed out the fact that Cam's words are limited to "more", "digger", "car","bus", "juice", "yesh", "nana" (banana). Hardly festive words. Whoops.

Past Luxury's
Has to be a quick one as I have had 4 hours sleep, in 3 parts. Lotties colic been so bad for the past two weeks that she has only been able to sleep at night on my chest and it kicks off about 5pm. Stuart tends to do the 10pm to midnight / 1am shift then I take over. We both feel absolutely drained.
Cam on good form, apart from thinking that randomly hitting Charlotte will help aleviate the situation!

Specialist Subject
Laughter swiftly followed incredulity on Monday night, when, watching Mastermind, the specialist subject chosen by one of the contestants was "Coronation Street". At first, I was appalled, but she ended up winning, not just because she aced all the soap related questions, but she was brilliant in the general knowledge round. I must admit that my opinion of her turned 180 following the general knowledge round. Then I started thinking of what my specialist subject would be, I could only gather the following together:
1. Project Management for small and medium project. Fly by the seat of your pants style. Valium optional.
2. Store cupboard cookery.
3. Cleaning: minimal effort, maximum impact (when the stuff hidden in the cupboard hits you!).
4. How to spot a bargin.
5. How to pick a good book in 5 seconds (thats all you have before you and toddler are forcibly ejected from the bookshop!).
6. David Tennant.
Err, think thats it......

Week of firsts....
Well it has been a week of firsts. Cam had his first chinese, which he adored, we ordered about 7 dim sum dishes for the 3 of us, he was loving it and impecably behaved apart from blowing raspberries at the waiters.
Charlotte slept through the night. We dont know if this is related to the fact that one of our friends kids have chickenpox and we could also have it.
Cameron earned his first slap from Stuart ( only a light one on his hand and please dont report us for admitting it) for hitting Charlotte with a play hammer (guess who bought a game for HIS son which involves whacking pop up martians with a hammer???!!!!). When the hammer is not used for whacking martians its mostly used for tenderising my knee, hitting the wall, flattening stray hairs on me or trying to reverse engineer my phone.
Not much else happening.....

Rotten Fruit
A wonderful childhood memory came flooding back to me last night as I was hit by the stench of an overripe pear. I was about 12 when around this time of year, my granny instructed me to collect all the rotten fruit from her garden. After whining that it was disgusting, I was given a pair of rubber gloves and told to get on with it. I slaved for what seems like hours picking up the most rotten, pungent and rotting fruit I could find. This was not easy, as, I was having to fight the local wildlife for the pickings. I warned granny that some of the fruit was badly decomposed and she would have more than her fair share of insects and gruesome creepy crawlies vying for the fruit. She just nodded her head and told me to pick up every last scrap of fruit, and, if I was nimble, I could try picking the "windfall" fruits from next doors garden.
I kept asking what her intention was for the fruit (she normally makes jam, compotes, etc from the best pickings only). She looked round shiftily and told me to carry on picking the fruit.
Once the fruit was gathered, I was told to place it in a large enamel pot and "go play". Anyway, to cut a very long story short, that was my first foray into the world of moonshine making. She basically let the rotten fruit mature for a couple of days and then boiled it into palinka (hungarian schnapps). Al Capone had nothing on my granny, who had to distille the palinka at least twice as the first brew was always too strong for consumption (although some of it was saved as disinfectant for wounds). Whenever I fell over or cut myself, granny would clean the wound and then douse it with schnapps. She said that there was no need for plasters once the schnapps was on it. I always thought I was the only kid whose wounds smelt of schnapps, until I realised that if you wore a plaster as a kid in Hungary, it meant that your mother or father had gotten to you before wise old granny could bring the vodka.
Anyways, I digress. The long and the short of it is, that my granny is probably waiting for her rotten fruit to ripen and in a couple of days, her kitchen will again become a distillery. I think I know what the rellies are going to get for crimbo, homemade jam and schnapps. I still have a litre downstairs that she made for my wedding, its about 80% proof and has a slightly blue tinge. Its like drinking paintsripper, something you should never drink on an empty stomach, something my hubby found out when he got alcohol posoining! My granny and most of the senior members of my family have a shot instead of an espresso on cold winter mornings.
